Eleanor Starlin

Eleanor Starlin, a longtime Malibu resident and former bookkeeper for The Malibu Times, died Sept. 14. She was 91.

Starlin was born on April 1, 1919. She was an early resident of Malibu. Starlin and her husband, Al, purchased their home in Point Dume in August 1950.

Starlin was a devoted member of Our Lady of Malibu Church. She was also a frequent volunteer at OLM School, which her family helped establish. Additionally, she worked for several years as a bookkeeper for The Times when it was published by Reeves and Reta Templeman. Starlin enjoyed bowling. She belonged to two leagues and continued practicing her hobby until a month before her death.

Starlin is survived by her children Mary Ellen, Patty and Jack and four grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will take place at OLM on Oct. 2 at 8 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OLM School.
