A Holiday Packing Party for the troops, sponsored by the Malibu Republican Women’s Club and spearheaded by 2006 Dolphin Award recipient Cindy Linke, was held in Malibu. Friends and neighbors arrived with snacks, candy, toiletries and other items for the troops.
Six Malibu schools including Webster Elementary, Our Lady of Malibu, Juan Cabrillo, Point Dume Marine School, Malibu Middle/High School and Viewpoint, submitted written letters and drawings, and donated boxes of items for the troops.
The combined efforts yielded a total record of 1,150 individual packages for the troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and Northern Africa.
