Updated: Fire Reported in Topanga

Update: 2:05 p.m.: Los Angeles County Fire personnel reported there were “lines around the fire” as of 1:50 p.m. Monday, with the burn area held at a quarter-acre.

“They’re going to be holding a couple of engines and a couple of camp crews to mop up,” Inspector Medina, a LACo Fire spokesperson, told The Malibu Times just after 2 p.m. 


Los Angeles County Fire personnel were on scene of a brush fire reported near the intersection of Old Topanga Road and Zuniga in Topanga on Monday, Nov. 13. As of 1:15 p.m. the fire was reported at about a quarter-acre.

The first call came in to the station at 12:46 p.m. and firefighters arrived at 1:06 p.m. 

Conditions included light wind, though fire information officers could not provide details as to the density of the brush or direction flames were moving.

About 115 LACo Fire personnel were on scene Monday morning following the initial call.
