I am writing this to the students at Pepperdine for the time they give to put up the 3000 American flags. Each time I drive by, I have a tear in my eye, both for being so proud of living in America and second so sad for the families who lost loved ones. Yes, we read our newspapers every day and the headlines tell us all the bad things about our country, but there is not another country like ours. Be thankful for what we have and not sorry for the things we think we are missing. No, we are not perfect, but America is the best in the world.
