Locals prominent in upcoming performance

Taylor Bentzen, a 10-year-old Malibu resident, has earned the lead role in the Southern California Children’s Theater production of “Annie Jr.,” a slightly condensed version of the beloved classic, “Annie.” Taylor began acting at age seven and has since been in multiple productions ranging from “High School Musical” to “Oliver.”

The local youth joins more than 75 talented artists of all ages in the production, many of whom call Malibu home. Among them are professional adult and teen film and television actors, including Emma Hunton, Eliza Dean, Toran Caudell, Emalee Burditt, Katie Burdi, Trevor Kent and casting director Dan Cowan.

“Annie Jr.” will be performed on Oct. 27 and 28 at the Civic Arts Plaza, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd. in Thousand Oaks. Tickets are available for $35 at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 805.449.ARTS.
