Pray for tolerance

The recent outpouring of hatred for Mel Gibson is astounding. Who is worse, Mel Gibson, for his remarks in a drunken stupor, for which he has apologized, or the sober, thought-out, unforgiving and premeditated hatred poured out by the Jewish community.

Maybe if the Malibu Jewish Center said we all love Mel Gibson, he’s a sick man and we are praying for him, this would help the world heal. However, their comment in your paper “…nor should there be any tolerance for anyone who expresses any kind of anti-Semitic remark,” expresses an attitude which will only continue to cause conflict worldwide.

Practice what you preach.
