A shallow magnitude 2.5 earthquake was reported Sunday morning near Malibu, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake occurred at 8:25 a.m. at a depth of 11.2 miles.
The epicenter was six miles south-southwest of Malibu (apparently off the city’s western coast), 12 miles from Malibu Beach, 12 miles from Agoura Hills and 13 miles from Thousand Oaks, according to the USGS.
In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby, according to the L.A. Times.
