The seventh annual Native American gathering celebrating Malibu’s original settlers and first Americans took place Saturday and Sunday at Bluffs Park. The theme for this year’s Chumash Day was “Honoring the People.” Entertainment centered on tribal ceremonies, dance and musical performances.
Chumash Day began under an ordinance in 1997 by the City of Malibu’s Native American Cultural Resources Advisory Committee, which hosts the annual educational event in the spirit of Earth Day.
