Local flower shop Sea Lily Malibu is operating at a new location after renovations forced it to move a week and a half before Valentine’s Day, its busiest time of the year. The flower shop and neighboring Trancas Canyon Nursery are operating out of small trailers at the front of the shopping center, facing Pacific Coast Highway.

“I don’t think a lot of people know we’re here,” Sea Lily owner Caytlyn McCloskey said Friday. “It’s been a slow week for both me and the nursery.”

The nursery and flower shop were formerly located at the back of the shopping center on a leafy plot with thick vegetation. But ongoing renovation at the center forced them to move last week, before their former buildings are torn down.

McCloskey said both Sea Lily and the nursery are open for business in their new homes at the front of the center ahead of Valentine’s Day this Thursday.
