Obituary: Fay Eleanor Singer

Malibu resident Fay Eleanor Singer died on Nov. 18 from pneumonia and COPD complications. 

Singer was born on Sept. 7, 1927 to Sam and Ida Seegel in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Western Reserve University and completed her education at UC Berkeley. She was office manager for General Artists Corporation (GAC) until her marriage to Raymond V. Singer in 1961.

Singer devoted the next 50-plus years of her life to pursuing a desire to paint, and became a respected fine artist and art activist with collectors worldwide.

Singer is survived by her husband Raymond V. Singer, older brother Beryl Seegel, her (almost) sister-in-law Harriette Spiro, nephew Mark Seegel and wife Heather, niece Barbara and husband John Angaiak, great niece Samantha and fiancé Owen Miller, great nephew Caleb Philips, wife Audrey and children Hunter and Addie.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Hadassah. Services took place on Sunday, Nov. 22 at Hillside Memorial Park.
