Malibu resident Julia Anne Webb died Sunday night after a car she was riding went off Hillview near Latigo Canyon Road, and fell several hundred feet down a hillside before hitting a tree. She was 34.
Malibu Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station Lt. Randall Dickey said the woman driving the car, Alex Thompson, was injured in the crash and was taken to UCLA Medical Center for treatment. A friend of Webb and Thompson said the extent of Thompson’s injuries had not been determined by the hospital.
Webb was born and raised in England. She moved to Malibu just under two years ago. Webb was a professional piano player and worked in television production. Webb’s longtime friend, Samantha Phillips, said Webb was “quite a character.”
“Everybody who met her never forgot her,” Phillips said. “She made an everlasting impression on everybody.”
She is survived her mother, Margo. A date for a memorial service is pending.
