Pepperdine alumna Miranda Ayim is going to her second Olympic Games with Canada’s women’s basketball team.
“Ayim became the first Pepperdine women’s basketball player to compete in the Olympics back in 2012” when she played in London on Team Canada, according to information from Pepperdine spokespeople.
Last year, Ayim won a Pan-American Games gold medal for Canada and averaged 4.4 points in five games during the London games in 2012.
She has experience in the WNBA, playing for the Tulsa Shock, and currently plays internationally for the Basket Landes in France.
Team Canada’s women’s basketball team will start competition on Saturday, Aug. 6 against Team China.
