Robert Lindstedt And Lukasz Kubot Hoisting The Australian Open Doubles Grand Slam Trophy

Robert Lindstedt, a Pepperdine men’s tennis alum, won the Australian Open Doubles Grand Slam with partner Lukasz Kubot.

The January 25 event was the first Grand Slam title the Pepperdine alum has ever won. Ranked No. 14, the duo defeated Eric Butorac and Raven Klaasen 6-3, 6-3 in the finals match.

His time at Pepperdine saw plenty of success. Lindstedt was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American in 1998. The alum also received all first team honors in both singles and doubles for the West Coast Conference. Lindstedt is only the second Pepperdine player to win a Grand Slam title, with Simon Aspelin being the other in 2007.
