Arthur Macofsky died at his Malibu home on June 6, the 61st anniversary of D-Day, in which he participated as a Navy officer.

Born in Perth Amboy, N.J. on July 29, 1926, Macofsky joined the Navy in 1944 when he was 17. In 1946, he moved to Los Angeles where he met and married his wife, Claire Frankel. They built a successful retail business and had four children.

The Macofskys moved to Malibu in 1977 and quickly purchased a couple of horses for their property on Morning View Drive. Arthur Macofsky was active with Trancas Riders & Ropers in the 1980s. He retired in 1991 and continued to enjoy his home, family, his grandsons’ baseball games at the Bluffs Park and golf.

Macofsky is survived by his wife Claire; children Steven, Sheryl and her husband Howard, Larry and Felice; grandchildren Brittany, Courtney, Allison, Zachary, Adam, Sam and Ariel; brother, Sidney and his wife Pam and nieces and nephews.
