Malibu Beach Dogs dominate tourney

The Malibu Beach Dogs defeated three teams to win the Southern California D2 AAU Tournament in Huntington Beach on Feb. 10. 

First, the Malibu team beat the OC Wolves 6-4, then earned a 10-7 victory over the San Clemente Tritons to advance to the championship game, where they defeated the Marucci Dirtdogs 7-5. 

“What a great job the boys did,” coach Daniel Denham said. “I couldn’t be more proud of the way each player contributed to that fantastic tournament win.” 

The Beach Dogs are preparing to compete in the 12u Travel Baseball National Championship in Cooperstown, N.Y. this summer.
