Pepperdine men’s water polo head coach Terry Schroeder received the Golden Coast Conference Tournament’s first-ever Coach of the Year Award. Voted on by the league’s six coaches, the honor comes just after Schroeder led the Waves to their GCC Tournament championship title win.

This marks Schroeder’s fourth time winning a league’s Coach of the Year award, as he has picked up 1989 Big West and 1997-98 MPSF honors within his 24 seasons with the Waves. The coach was also awarded with the 1997 National Coach of the Year after leading Pepperdine to the NCAA title.

The GCC Tournament title was the Waves’ 10th regular-season or tournament title, and first since 2002.
