Letter: Firework Frequency

Letter to the Editor

We have lived on Point Dume for 45 years. There have been three horribly disruptive firework displays off Paradise Cove during the past few weeks. We have never had that many in a mini succession that we can recall during those years. We understand another had been approved for Sunday, Sept. 21. These are Temporary Use Permits, aren’t they? How many can be granted for these private parties? We are getting somewhat close to weekly now for these events.

We and our dogs can adjust to the Fourth of July celebration. I understand some people on Point Dume want to start a petition, and perhaps they will. Mr. Laetz and his dog, Fred, have written a letter in the Sept. 18 edition of The Malibu Times, “Doggy Demands,” which we can certainly endorse.

Please have some sensitivity regarding this issue for Point Dume residents and critters.
