Pepperdine women’s volleyball team has picked Julie Rubenstein as the recipient of the Most Significant Athletic award of her just-completed collegiate career. She has also been named to the AVCA All-American third team.
Rubenstein, a graduate of Oaks Christian High School, ended one of the top careers in school history earlier this month after the Waves’ first-round NCAA Tournament loss to Long Beach State. She earned All-West Coast Conference honors in each of her four seasons, was voted Pepperdine’s 2007-08 Female Student-Athlete of the Year, is a three-time WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient, a two-time WCC All-Academic selection and a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.
Rubenstein is Pepperdine’s first AVCA All-American selection since 2003. She never missed a set in her four-year career, playing in all 423.
