Alex Sarkissian, a senior hailing from Glendale, California, finished as the runner up in the NCAA Singles Championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Sarkissian was ranked #28 in the NCAA for singles coming into the tournament. Not only did he reach the finals in singles, but the senior qualified for the quarterfinals in doubles play making him the first Pepperdine player to reach the quarterfinals for both singles and doubles in the same season.
“This week has been incredible, I’m so happy for him,” head coach Adam Steinberg said. “We had a tough season team wise and for Alex to end the year like he did meant a lot to a lot of people. We needed something positive and he provided that.”
For the season as a whole, Sarkissian ended his final year at Pepperdine with a 29-11 overall record, which brought his career record to 52-17.
