A longtime employee with The Reel Inn died on Tuesday, Dec. 2 in a vehicular accident on Kanan Dume Road, officials with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department confirmed.
Porfirio Lopez, 56, died from multiple traumatic injuries at the scene of the accident. No other injuries were reported.
The accident involving two vehicles was reported around 4 p.m. and occurred near Cavalleri Road, north of Pacific Coast Highway, Sgt. Lupian with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff station said.
Southbound lanes were diverted to Latigo Road, according to an alert sent by the City of Malibu.Â
Lopez had worked at the restaurant for more than eighteen years and was on his way to work the night of the accident, according to The Reel Inn’s Facebook page.
