Larry Ellison’s real estate spree at Carbon Beach helped garner Malibu a mention in Forbes’ list of biggest 2012 billionaire home sales.
Luxury home purchases were on the rise in 2012, according to Forbes, and plenty of billionaires such as Ellison made jaw-dropping house purchases in the U.S. Other popular ritzy home purchase spots included Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills and Bel Air, where homes went for upwards of $30 million.
Ellison, the CEO and founder of Oracle, bought former Yahoo Chief Executive Officer Terry Semel’s Carbon Beach estate for nearly $37 million in September and just last month bought Jerry Bruckheimer’s Carbon Beach spot for an undisclosed amount. He owns 10 properties at Carbon Beach. He also owns the Nobu property and the old PerView restaurant site.
