Comprised of four Malibu players, the Santa Monica Vikings youth football team recently completed an undefeated season and won their league championship after competing in the Pacific Coast Conference against teams from surrounding areas including Gardena, Lakewood, Lynwood and Downey.

The team’s Malibu residents are quarterback Marco Siderman, 7; leading receiver Max Alexander, 8; defensive tackle Justin Pilot, 7; and starting center Mateo Siderman, 5.

Two of those players set new season records. Siderman, a second grade student at Juan Cabrillo Elementary School, threw 25 touchdowns, zero interceptions and ran for another 15 touchdowns. Alexander, a second grade student at Point Dume Marine Science Elementary School, caught 18 touchdown passes and ran for 10 more.
