Malibu resident Tori Griffith has been nominated for the 37th Annual Young Artists award for best young actor in a web performance. She received the nomination for her role in IFC TV’s series “The Fergusons.” Griffith joins a list of talented 2016 nominees, which includes Elle Fanning, Bella Thorne and Jacob Tremblay.
Sometimes referred to as the “kid Oscars,” the Young Artist Awards were founded in 1978 to honor the talents and contributions of child stars under 21 years of age. Leonardo DiCaprio, Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore and Christian Bale are among past nominees and winners over the years.
The award show will take place on March 13 at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, and will later be aired on PBS for the first time ever. Visit youngartistawards.org to purchase tickets.
