Strong offshore Santa Ana winds will blow through Malibu beginning early Tuesday, Jan. 13, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds could reach up to 50 mph along the coast, with stronger Santa Ana gusts expected to peak on Wednesday morning.

Trees saturated from last weekend’s rainstorm may be uprooted from the winds and driving conditions may be hazardous, according to the National Weather Service.

Santa Ana winds are strong, extremely dry winds that originate inland and affect coastal Southern California.Â
