Polly Husting Stackler, a Malibu resident of 45 years, died Sept. 20. She was 73.
Stackler was born in Evanston, Ill. on Feb. 12, 1937. She graduated from Highland Park High School in Illinois in 1955. Stackler then attended the University of Wisconsin, where she graduated in 1959. She then moved to Los Angeles.
Stackler enjoyed riding her horse, practicing yoga and walking on the beach. She was active in conservative politics, and worked for the creation of the City of Malibu.
Polly is survived by her husband Ron Stackler, children Arthur and Laura Petrie of Mission Viejo, Marden and Jeff Rodmyer of Minneapolis and grandchildren William, Julian, Langley and Jacquelin.
A funeral service will take place at Mount Sinai Cemetery of Simi Valley on Sunday at 10 a.m.
