Two Sheriff's deputies survey the area around where jeans that may belong to a fugitive carjacker were found.

While a carjacking and kidnapping suspect remains on the lam after escaping in Malibu, detectives are conducting DNA tests on suspicious jeans that were found in Bluffs Park this afternoon to see whether they belong to the fugitive, authorities confirmed.

A jogger found the soiled pants around 4 p.m. and flagged down two nearby Sheriff’s deputies, according to a witness. The pants were collected by detectives and taken to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s crime laboratory, Sgt. Johnson of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station said.

Deputies surveyed nearby bathrooms and garbage cans for other clothing items such as socks but did not find any other suspicious items.

Johnson did not know how long it would take to determine whether the pants belong to the suspected carjacker, 32-year-old Jaci Baragar.

Deputies at the scene said the pants matched Baragar’s description. Reports indicated Baragar had worn jeans, a black tank top, no shoes and, possibly, handcuffs.
