A 23-year-old man was struck and killed while walking along the southbound lane of Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades at around 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day. The victim, a West Los Angeles resident, was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver, a man from Inglewood, reportedly was not injured. The crash shut down the highway until later in the morning and detoured traffic to Sunset Boulevard and Temescal Canyon Road.
