Longtime Point Dume resident Bill Moore died Nov. 7 at his home in Mount Shasta. He was 94 years old.

After graduating from Hollywood High School, Moore in 1937 helped form the Motion Picture Editors Guild, which at the time was comprised of only 571 members. He worked as an editor and post production supervisor on numerous films and television shows, including some of the first “Lassie” episodes, and commercials, his favorite ones about beer.

Moore was also in the fifth camera combat unit in World War II and was the head usher for many years at Our Lady of Malibu Church.

He is survived by his sons Bill Moore, Jr. of Portland, Or.; Tom Moore of Redding; and Casey Moore of Mount Shasta.

A memorial service well be held at Our Lady of Malibu Church on Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
