Malibu Weather and Events: More Hot Temps in Store

Temperatures are expected to rise this weekend in Malibu, with a high of 77 degrees for Saturday and Sunday. Partly cloudy mornings are expected throughout the weekend and the low will stay around 66 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Due to the increased temperatures, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather alert and strong rip currents are expected. For those planning a day at the beach, stay close to lifeguard stations. If caught in a rip current, swim parallel to the shore.

The Chamber of Commerce will put on its annual Arts Fest in the Civic Center this weekend, beginning Saturday at 8 a.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.

Bank of Books will host Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, also known as “Gidget,” on Saturday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m. and local children’s book author Jennifer Hartinger will read and sign her book “A Girl Named Sam” beginning at 10:30 a.m.

A free stunt show and outdoor screening of “Spiderman” will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Bluffs Park. Food trucks, comic books and a photo booth will also be available and the event is hosted by The City of Malibu.
