Legendary and local musician Mike Pinera performed at the 2011 Malibu Music Awards earlier this month. He received the Legendary Rocker Award, and rocked the audience with two of his hits: “Ride Captain Ride” and “In a Gadda Da Vida.”
Buster Akrey received Rock Album of The Year and joined Pinera. The audience sang along enthusiastically.
Frank Stallone joined the talent being honored. Stallone received the American Songbook Award and performed two songs of that genre, “This Train is Bound for Glory” and “This Land is Your Land.”
Music producer and Malibu Music Awards founder Terence J. Davis was inspired by his passion for music.
The festival and awards ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments, and to honor those who have contributed to the music industry, as well as acknowledging upcoming talents.
