Pepperdine University’s men’s tennis team recently returned from its tour of France and Barcelona. The team made its first stop in Paris. Following a tour of the city, including the Eiffel Tower, the team played in the four-day Tennis Club Ablon Villeneuve Open singles tournament that started on Aug. 9. Brian Berdusco, a newcomer, reached the finals of the tournament.
On Saturday, Aug. 12, the team headed to Montpelier, France, to spend a day on the beach and compete against local tennis club ASCH Gables in an exhibition match, which Pepperdine won in a 6-1 decision.
“I was able to start my career as a Wave, see some absolutely amazing culture, and at the same time begin to establish relationships with my fellow teammates, who someday I could see becoming much more like family,” Freshman Max Mendelsohn said.
The tennis team then traveled to Spain for relaxation and sports. The break was well-served; the Waves won an exhibition match, 6-1, against Barcelona’s Walter Grunfeld Tennis Academy.
