I am a homeowner in Malibu and would like to weigh in on the Whole Foods development project.
I, for one, believe in balance and beauty, and that is exactly what I see in this tasteful development. I am shocked at all the anti-development warriors in this beautiful spiritual place, albeit I understand keeping Malibu free of chain store mania.Â
There is such a thing as balance in this beautiful country, and this development would allow for that. Look at all the lovely charming coastal towns, such as Del Mar, La Jolla, Coronado and Carmel. There is balance in those villages, and we strongly need the same.
So, bravo to — hopefully — more incoming beauty and convenience. I strongly applaud it. And don’t worry about the traffic — no one will come here for Whole Foods, as most towns have their own.
And also, pity about losing the hotel project. It has saddened me because the project would have only added to the beautification of Malibu, which is needed. We also need more nice restaurants.
