Lawrence Maurice “Mike” Taylor died on Feb. 21 in Santa Monica. He was 77 years old.
Taylor graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1945. He was a member of the Argonauts and served in the Navy in World War II.
Taylor was a resident of Malibu for more than 50 years, living in a beach house on Pacific Coast Highway since his father purchased it in 1936. Taylor enjoyed body surfing in front of his home until he was in his 60s. He was also active in Malibu politics years ago.
Taylor is survived by his wife, Laurie Taylor, sons Scott and Sean, daughter Linda Osborne, brother Gary, sister Susie Walczak, grandchildren Lauren, Cory, Kaylee, Brandon, Kristyn and Tyler, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Donations can be made to wherever desired. Private family services will take place.
