For the first time since 2005, a Pepperdine men’s basketball player has earned a spot on the All-West Coast Conference first team.
Stacy Davis, a sophomore forward, led the team in scoring (15.2) and rebounding (7.7) while helping the Waves to their best season in almost a decade.
Along with Davis being honored, forward Brendan Lane also was awarded with Defensive Player of the Year and the All-WCC honorable mention squad. The first Pepperdine player to receive the honor since 2002, Lane averaged 2.4 blocks a game while recording one block in all 17 WCC games this season.
The Waves earned the fifth seed, which gives them a bye to the quarterfinals this week at the WCC Championships. They take on Saint Mary’s this Saturday sometime after 8 p.m. (30 minutes after the end of the 6 p.m. game). It will be broadcasted on ESPN 2.
