Eric Fuscher, founder of Vintage Grocers in Malibu, will host a walk from the store, located in the Trancas Country Market, to Point Dume and back as part of an Angioma Alliance benefit walk to help raise awareness of cavernous angioma. The walk is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 18.

Cavernous angiomas are abnormal mulberry-shaped blood vessels in the brain or spine. These vessels can cause symptoms such as headaches, seizures, hemorrhages and stroke symptoms.

Fuscher’s wife, Linda, was diagnosed with cavernous angioma in November 2004 after she suffered a fall. Radiologists at Mission Hospital could not tell if the bleeding was from her fall or from the tumor in her head that they discovered, according to a story Linda published about her diagnosis online.

The walk will start at 9 a.m. on Oct. 18 at Vintage Grocers, located at 30745 Pacific Coast Hwy. For more information, visit the Angioma Alliance Walk webpage.
