Partially foggy weather with calm winds by the beach are forecasted this weekend in Malibu, according to the National Weather Service.

A high of 72 degrees is expected on Saturday and 74 degrees for Sunday. Morning fog will lead to partly sunny afternoons and the low should stay near 63 degrees.

Strong rip currents are expected on beaches and a warning has been issued beginning Aug. 9 through Aug. 11. Beachgoers should plan on staying near lifeguard stations and if caught in a rip current, swim parallel to the beach.

For those going out on the town, the Malibu Film Society will screen “A Hard Day’s Night” and host a book signing by Ivor Davis at the Malibu Screening Room on Aug. 8 and Aug. 9 at 7 p.m.

Bank of Books will host story time with a special guest therapy cat “Kool Kat” at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 9 and the Las Virgines-Malibu Council of Governments Regional Bike Plan team will meet at Malibu Country Mart on Aug. 10 at 8:30 a.m. to discuss plans to make bicycling safer.
