Since we became a city, I have supported increasing athletic fields for the youth and families in Malibu.
It looks as though Trancas is headed for an open space designation. The 1,200 parents/635 kids (just in AYSO) hold out hope that the Bluffs Park swap, in one of its many suggested variations, will meet our residents’ recreational needs.
Our city council must consider the youth and families of Malibu our greatest resource or we will be destined to lose these families and become a retirement community filled with a bunch of cranky NIMBYs.
Make Malibu young again.
