A group of eager runners will descend on the town this weekend, as the Malibu International Marathon winds its way through the region and ends at Zuma Beach on Sunday.
There will be an Expo event this Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. to welcome runners into town. On Saturday, there will be events taking place at Zuma Beach from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some of Saturday’s activities will include a Kids Race at 11:00 a.m., a panel with Josh Cox Race on running strategy, a free paddle board demo, food trucks and other children’s activities.Â
The actual marathons will take place on Sunday, Nov. 10 and include a full-marathon, half-marathon and the SUPathon.
The full-marathon will begin at Freedom Park in Camarillo at 7 a.m. and finish at Zuma Beach.Â
The half-marathon will begin a Point Mugu State Park at 7:30 a.m and will finish at Zuma Beach.
The SUPathon will extend 7 miles north along Pacific Coast Highway, about a mile south of Leo Carrillo and end a Zuma Beach.
The marathon has a six and a half hour time limit, while the half-marathon and SUPathon each have a five hour time limit. Roads will be closed during these times but will re-open shortly after the race ends.Â
