Republican hypocrisy with a capital “H.”
Gov. George W. Bush signed 1997 legislation in Texas to authorize election recounts, yet the Bush camp in the Florida presidential aftermath has gone to great lengths to halt recounts. The Texas law signed by Bush declared that hand recounts should be preferred over electronic methods because they are more accurate. Current Bush and Republican tactics in Florida belie and contradict his own legislation.
