HerShe Group foster girls return to Malibu

The HerShe Group foster girls returned to Malibu for the fifth year during Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Thirteen foster girls participated in leadership workshops, hiked through Charmlee Park, went to the beach and saw a movie. The girls stayed with local attorneys Douglas Davis and Alexis Crump Davis and the Catalyst Youth Leadership Group donated the workshops. HerShe receives more than 200 applications each year and selects five to 10 are to be paired with mentors and participate in leadership work. About 90 percent of the girls in the program go on to attend college.
