The seven candidates running for four available seats on the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education will meet in a forum at Pepperdine Graziadio Executive Center on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m., hosted by the Malibu Rotary Club.
The candidates running for a seat on the Board of Education are:
1. Oscar de la Torre (running for re-election)
2. Laurie Lieberman (running for re-election)
3. Ralph Mechur (running for re-election)
4. Patricia Finer
5. Craig Foster
6. Dhun May
7. Richard Tahvildaran-Jesswein
Of the seven candidates, Craig Foster is the sole contender representing Malibu.
The last day to register to vote in the upcoming election is Oct. 20 and the last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot is Oct. 28. Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
