A middle school student at Malibu High School was investigated this week for allegedly writing a “Halloween Hit List,” according to administrators at Malibu High School and investigators from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

The student was found to not pose a threat, however, and is being monitored by parents and school officials.

“It was apparently going to be an egging incident,” said Sgt. Johnson of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.

In an email sent out to MHS parents on Monday, Principal David Jackson assured the school community that students, faculty and staff were safe.

“There was never a specified threat; however, we at Malibu High School take these incidents seriously,” Jackson wrote. “We found the student and the list. We have taken appropriate school action and the Sheriff’s Department is also involved. The student’s parents have cooperated fully with the school and the Sheriff’s Department.”
