City to offer emergency training classes

The City of Malibu and the Los Angeles County Fire Department are conducting a series of free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training classes beginning June 13. The classes teach emergency response skills such as disaster preparedness, fire suppression, light search and rescue, and first aid and medical organization, among others.

The classes will take place Thursdays and Saturdays, June 13, 15, 20, 22 and 29, with Thursday classes from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday classes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Malibu City Hall.
