Locals and visitors were treated to the sights and sounds of summer at the Summer Block Party, which featured food, activities and a movie screening, at the Malibu Country Mart on Sunday.
A variety of tasty fare was on hand, including cotton candy, popcorn and funnel cakes. Children were treated to face painting, henna tattoos and a petting zoo. Event attendees danced to the melodic sound of steel drums by the band Island Rhythm, while other visitors picnicked and shopped. The stores joined in the block party celebration by hosting events within each individual store. A screening of 1980s adventure comedy “The Goonies” topped off the block party festivities.
