Local Rick Gibson, current associate vice president for public affairs at Pepperdine University as well as its chief marketing officer, has been appointed vice president for public affairs and church relations at the university, effective Nov. 1. Gibson will also continue his role as Pepperdine’s chief marketing officer.
“In naming Rick Gibson vice president for Public Affairs and Church Relations, we are placing a strategic initiative at Pepperdine in very capable hands,” Pepperdine University President Andrew K. Benton said in a press release. “We consider the university’s Christian heritage and ties to the Churches of Christ as a cornerstone of our mission.”
Gibson and his wife Agnes have lived in Malibu with their two daughters for the past 10 years.
