One person was seriously injured in a single-vehicle car accident Tuesday afternoon near tunnel one at Kanan-Dume Road, Sergeant John Skikas of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station confirmed to The Malibu Times. The crash occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon, and one person was seriously injured and airlifted to the hospital. Skikas said he believed it the hospital was UCLA, but he was not sure. It is not known if there were other passengers in the car at the time of the crash. The southbound lanes of Kanan-Dume were diverted for about 45 minutes, Skikas said, while the accident was cleaned up. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
