Malibu youth surfers Charlie Hoberman, Henno Hopp, Diego Didden and Niko Didden raised over $6,900 for the SurfAid Foundation at last weekend’s Billabong SurfAid Cup. The boys named their team “Malibu Groms.”
Along with raising money for those in need, the boys got to compete in an uncrowded lineup alongside several pro surfers, including Ventura legend Matt McCabe.
The SurfAid Cup took place at Surfrider Beach on Sept. 11-12, and over $160,000 was raised at the event to help build stronger communities in the Nias and Mentawai Islands off the coast of Eastern Indonesia.
