Los Angeles County and Pacific Coast Highway Taskforce co-chairs California Senator Henry Stern, Senator Ben Allen and Assemblymember Richard Bloom announced a $150,000 corridor grant to improve safety on PCH. The grant, awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety, will “fund three pedestrian and bicycle safety assessments and trainings within the corridor.” It will also go toward “educational outreach.”
“I lost friends growing up on PCH. This is very personal to me. The taskforce co-chairs are grateful for the leadership shown by the County of Los Angeles, City of Santa Monica, City of Los Angeles, City of Malibu and, especially, council members La Monte and Rosenthal,” Stern said in an emailed statement.
LA County applied for the grant on behalf of the taskforce; funds will be used anywhere from Santa Monica to the Ventura County line.
