Two people were arrested for driving under the influence at a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Saturday night in Malibu. The checkpoint took place at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and John Tyler Drive from 8:30 p.m. until 3:30 a.m.

A total of 1,633 cars passed through the checkpoint and 15 drivers were given sobriety tests. Officials issued 14 driver’s license citations and impounded three vehicles.

Malibu/Lost Hills Sgt. Philip Brooks conducted the checkpoint along with a team of 11 deputies, three reserves and nine disaster communication volunteers. It was funded by an Office of Traffic Safety grant for the City of Malibu.Â
