The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education elected Laurie Lieberman to serve as board president and Maria Leon-Vazquez as board vice president at its Dec. 13 meeting.
“Our district is fortunate to have such dedicated elected officials,” Superintendent Sandra Lyon said. “I look forward to working with both Ms. Lieberman and Ms. Leon-Vazquez as they take on their leadership roles for the year.”
Lieberman began serving on the Board of Education in November 2010 and Leon-Vazquez was elected to the board in November 2000.
